This publication was released on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name at Palazzo Dugnani in Milan. Under the canopy of Tiepolo’s ceiling frescoes at Palazzo Dugnani, the Hypervisuality exhibition, featuring six film works from the Wemhöner Collection, builds a bridge between the invisible and the visible.

“Hyper” here does not emphasize an overabundance of images, as is often attributed to media society, but rather a movement into the border area of what is visually representable. Hypervisuality achieves this transgression with a foray into the art of cinematic estrangement, exemplified by the works New Women by Yang Fudong, Fragile and 2’59” by Masbedo, Playtime by Isaac Julien, and The Swap and Deep Gold by Julian Rosefeldt.
