The publication In Focus – Photography from the Wemhöner Collection presents selected photographic positions. Following the collector Heiner Wemhöner’s unconventional and partly biographically shaped interests, the range of international works presented extends from nude and portrait photography to long-exposure landscape photography as well as digitally edited, staged and performative photography, through to overpainting and collage.

“What fundamentally interests me about photographs: they tell stories, other people’s or my own,” says Heiner Wemhöner in an interview. The comments by art historian Ulrike Münter contextualise the works in the collection within each artist’s overall oeuvre and trace the visually initiated narrative.
