The everyday life of the Herford entrepreneur is accompanied by figurative sculptures by Trak Wendisch, Frank Dornseif, Stephan Balkenhol and Peter Stauss, as well as works of the Italian Transavanguardia.

The reduced stone settings by Ulrich Rückriem and Reinhard Buxel enter into dialogue with the dynamically curved bronzes by Tony Cragg. Ernesto Neto found his way into the collection with his poetic play of space, memory and physicality; a “steel line” by Bernar Venet found its place only shortly before the publication was completed. Asta Gröting’s cast of a field or Bettina Pousttchi’s alarmingly leaning street bollards are also examined in terms of their content-related and formal references: art historian Ulrike Münter comments on the works, while Heiner Wemhöner provides personal insights into his collecting practice in an interview.

Special attention is paid to the interplay of sculpture and place. Berlin photographer Andrea Stappert documents the works where they have found their place in Heiner Wemhöner’s living and working environment.

Artists
Horst Antes, Enrique Asensi, Stephan Balkenhol, Roberto Barni, Reinhard Buxel, Chen Guangwu, Sandro Chia, Girolamo Ciulla, Tony Cragg, Michael Croissant, Frank Dornseif, Asta Gröting, Simon Cantemir Hausì, Dietrich Klinge, Eliseo Mattiacci, Igor Mitoraj, Ernesto Neto, Nunzio, Mimmo Paladino, Bettina Pousttchi, Ulrich Rückriem, Giuseppe Spagnulo, Peter Stauss, Bernar Venet, Wang Shugang, Trak Wendisch, Yue Minjun

["post-3576","publikationen-swh","type-publikationen-swh","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
